About Pickle N Pins

Pickle N Pins is a social sports and entertainment venue in Metairie, Louisiana, minutes from New Orleans. It brings six ticketed activities, an arcade, free backyard games, a full bar and a kitchen under one roof — and all of it is indoors, which in a Gulf Coast summer is the point.

What is here

Six activities, each with its own page and its own rates: pickleball, padel, duckpin bowling, axe throwing, Krazy Darts and shuffleboard. There is an arcade, and a set of backyard games that cost nothing to play: cornhole, washers, table tennis, foosball and Connect 4.

Pickle N Pins was the first venue in Metairie to put in padel courts — the enclosed, glass-walled racquet sport that is easier to pick up than tennis and harder to put down. If you have never seen a court, the guide to padel explains it, and padel versus pickleball covers which one to try first.

Eating, drinking and watching the game

There is a full bar and a kitchen, with food inspired by the flavours of food truck culture. Televisions run all around the bar, and a large LED wall screen faces the yard-game area in the centre of the building — so a table here works for a game day as well as for a game of darts. Who it is for

The venue was built as a place where adults and families can both turn up and find something to do: casual play, leagues, lessons and open play, birthday parties, bachelorette parties, corporate outings and holiday parties. Courts, lanes and activities are reserved online, and group and event enquiries go through the special events page.

Pickle N Pins was founded by Darren Balsamo and Drew Brees, with the aim of offering good facilities, friendly service and enough variety that a group with different ideas of fun can still agree on one destination.

Visiting

Rates for every activity, including the difference between peak and non-peak hours, are on the pricing page. Peak is 5PM Friday through Sunday; non-peak is Monday through 5PM Friday. Axe throwing has two requirements of its own: participants must be 12 or older and must wear closed-toe shoes.
